There isn't enough that can be said about how much fun or, perhaps more accurately, fulfilling it can be to work with such fantastic musicians. These musicians are what I would call high-caliber artists; all with music degrees (some with masters or doctorate degrees). On the whole they run their own big band groups, they're educators, they perform with high profile orchestras like the Minnesota Orchestra, they've toured with Broadway productions, they compose music (modern concert music and jazz), they have their own albums out... Every time we play a gig together and talk at any length about who we are and what we do people are surprised that such talent has come together to play folk music together - and we love doing it. I'm lucky to be able to associate myself with these artists.

The arrangements for this album were written to highlight the talents of the musicians - the first six tracks are folk-polka and traditional brass-band-leaning arrangements. The last two are jazz oriented and feature some of our most accomplished jazz artists; Adam Meckler (trumpet), Brian Handeland (alto sax), Gus Sandberg (tenor sax), and Steven Hobert (accordion and electric piano). This is something we'll do regularly at gigs as well, perform largely traditional polka and end our set (or last set) with pop and jazz arrangements - it seemed wholly appropriate to present this holiday album with the same coloration-of-genre.

The album is available at CD Baby (https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/adamberndtfeatthebrassba) as well as other online retailers. Thank you for your interest!
